The Service Workers

One of the rare silver linings of 9/11 was the new respect won by those who serve–first responders, doctors, even teachers.  Our hope is that the COVID-19 pandemic will have a similar effect on a much larger cohort of Americans who are often treated as if they didn’t exist at all–our service workers, who have found themselves on the front lines taking risks they never signed up for to keep our country running and to help their fellow citizens suffering through this awful crisis.
